When Mrs. F first contacted us here at Global Dwelling, she let us know that she wanted her uncomfortable home fixed before the hot summer months approached. We sent one of our highly trained and experienced, home comfort specialists, Dorrell, to the home to help provide a solution that would help her and her family. During the evaluation, it was discovered that her attic was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation. Mrs. F wanted the old insulation, removed and replaced while also having an option to store her personal items in the attic space. We were more than happy to provide a solution that would improve the overall performance of her home while also optimizing storage space in the attic!
Upon the arrival of our experts, the first step they completed was to remove and properly dispose of all of the old insulation in the space. Once the insulation was removed, our experts then installed and secured SilverGlo onto the existing flooring. Our experts air-sealed in between the boards with ZypFoam to ensure no leaky or unwanted air would get into the space. Our experts then secured plywood boards onto the SilverGlo boards and thoroughly ensured that the plywood boards on top were also air-sealed. The combination of SilverGlo boards and plywood boards on the existing flooring will both properly insulate the attic while also providing storage space for Mrs. F. Our experts then further insulated the attic by blowing in up to 18 inches of cellulose into the bays of the attic. This attic is both properly air-sealed and insulated, fixing this uncomfortable home and restoring peace of mind for Mrs. F!
