My wife and I are in the process of closing on our first home and I'm interested in making it as energy efficient as possible. The insulation in the attic needs replacing and there is evidence of mice up there. The walls are fairly narrow in width so they don't hold much insulation but I'd be curious if there's any way to improve them. I'm also interested in converting the two-car garage into a studio space in the Spring, which would require insulating it. Thank you!

John Kotsides gave me some of the best customer service I have ever received. I ultimately decided to go with another company for my insulation needs, but that was only because Global Dwelling does not do spray foam work. At this point, I had already put down 50% on my payment to Global Dwelling (for a different type of insulation work that we had discussed), but John immediately refunded it all to me, even after I insisted on paying him for the time he had spent providing me with his expert advice. From John's initial consultation I got the impression that not only was he knowledgeable, but he enjoyed the process of making people's home's more efficient. He was professional, personable and easy to work with.

The crew worked expediently and they seemed committed to a high level of craft. I am a carpenter myself, so I was certainly checking out the work that they had done at the close of each day and I was never disappointed. I was impressed with all aspects of each stage: cellulose blown insulation into the wall cavities, 2" foam board installation in crawlspace, vapor barrier installation under kitchen crawlspace, spray foaming around the sills, and installation of double paned windows in basement. These guys are a professional outfit with a reasonable overall price. Jill was great at helping us navigate the NYSERDA loan process and was always friendly and easy to deal with. Thanks again!!

When this homeowner called us here at Global Dwelling with concerns about his freezing floors, we were more than happy to help him out! Our home comfort specialist found during the evaluation that this crawlspace was poorly insulated and all of the exposed exterior walls were not insulated, allowing cold air to get into the area and become a direct link to the uncomfortable floors. We quickly sent over our team of insulation contractors to start this crawlspace upgrade! Our experts first started by removing any of the old batt fiberglass insulation from the crawlspace ceiling and making sure that the space was clear. Our experts then insulated the exposed exterior walls with Foamax boards to create a barrier from the cold outside air. Once that was completed, our experts then installed our total clean space encapsulation system by first laying a drainage matt that was secured together to the Foamax boards with vapor barrier tape. They then completed the system by securing a vapor barrier onto the matt and Foamax boards with vapor barrier tape.

With the combination of both the insulated exposed exterior walls and total clean space crawlspace encapsulation system, these floors will no longer be freezing cold for these homeowners! We were more than happy to help this uncomfortable home.

No More Cold, Freezing, and Wet Crawlspace in West Hurley, NY!

This homeowner reached out to us with concerns about his crawlspace, he complained that the crawlspace had become cold and wet, leaving the floors above freezing cold. We sent our home comfort specialists to his home to provide a very thorough evaluation of the space and provide the best plan possible. We discovered during the evaluation that the space had moldy fiberglass insulation in the ceiling and the floor had debris and the solution we provided was a complete encapsulation system. Our experts were quick to arrive at this home and restore peace of mind to Mr. H.

Our experts first began by removing all of the nasty old fiberglass insulation that had become moldy over time. In order to solve Mr. H's problem with the cold floors, we insulated all of the exposed exterior walls with Foamax boards which were then air-sealed with ZypFoam. Our experts then installed our total clean space encapsulation system by first laying a drainage matt that was secured to the Foamax boards with vapor barrier tape. Our experts then completed the system by laying a vapor barrier on top, both of these were secured to one another by vapor barrier tape and completed our total clean space encapsulation system!

These homeowners can now have peace of mind knowing that they will no longer suffer from cold, freezing floors, and a wet crawlspace!
