Job Stories From Ulster County, NY
Basement to beautiful used in attic

Our customer purchased his home with the intention of finishing the attic once his children grew and he needed more space. The attic was set up with 2 dormers and kneewalls on both sides. The kneewalls contained the trunk lines and air handlers for the A/C system. We wanted to bring the system into the conditioned space and get enough insulation behind to meet code. The code for insulation in our area of upstate NY is R49. The customer did not want to use spray foam and wanted to maintaion some ventilation in the cavities. We had 10" rafters so we needed additional insulation to meet code. We lined the bays with rafter baffles into the upper flat attic and then covered the slopes in the knee walls with 2" silverglo. Outside of the kneewall we had approximately 32" of exposed slope. Since sheetrockers hate to install drywall over rigid foam which requires longer screws and often results in higher screw pops, they requested that we strap the ceiling with 1x2"'s. The additional work seemed unnecessary so we brainstormed for another way to reduce our labor and try to work with materials that the crew was accostomed to using. The 32" slope to be the exact dimension for a Basement to Beautiful panel. We installed the B To b panels horizontally which so we did not need to install any strapping and reduced the amount of labor necessary to complete the job.  We densed packed behind the panels and achieved an R49 to meet code. The drywallers were happy with the result and we heard no complaints.

Mr. Gaffney was a wonder to work for! His good sense of humor and how he interacted with everyone who works for the company was a true pleasure. He was in need of his old fiberglass insulation to be removed and we replaced it with blown in cellulose.  With this project we encapuslated his crawl space as well. Mr. Gaffney was very understanding and very patient with our team all the way up to the completion of his project! We left with a finished project that the customer was happy with.

Attic Cleanout- The Worst Part

With Thanksgiving just yesterday, sometimes we have to stop and take a second to reflect on what our teams do for us each day.  When our guys are in the attic, the dirtesst part of the job is always the cleanout.  Whether it be fiberglass batts, rockwool, etc, no one knows what they are going to find during the process.

At our job in Olivebridge, our team was buried deep in fiberglass.  The words "Thank You" could never be said enough for what they endure each day.

Appreciate our team each and everyday!!

Baffles- What Do They Do?

In brief, baffles are designed to provide a channel of air to flow through specific parts of your attic. They are known are also known as wind baffle, insulation baffles, rafter vents or venting chutes. They are usually made from cardboard, or rigid foam board, or polyvinyl chloride.

Surprisingly even the most well-insulated attic space may still require the assistance of attic baffles to provide the additional air circulation. The main function of an attic baffle is to draw the air in from outside your home, and allowing it to circulate around your attic. You can situate the baffles where the circulation is mainly required.

If you do not have sufficient air circulation you may be prone to the build-up of moisture which as a consequence results in mold and mildew problems, and that ‘musty’ smell we all relate to attics.

At a recent project in Mount Tremper, due to poor air circulation we deemed it necessary to install baffles in every bay of the roof deck.

Making A House A Home- For Your Guests

Global Dwelling recently had the pleasure to work with a customer in Kinderhook, NY, and uses her home as an Air B&B.  During the few times, she was able to come up to the home during the winter months, she became more and more concerned about how drafty and uncomfortable the home felt.  If she could notice in such a short time, what must her guests feel?

Upon inspection, our sales and production team were able to squeeze into the attic space and identify the root cause of the issue; MASSIVE gaps where there was no insulation at all.

Using our Tru-Soft Cellulose, we were able to insulate all those hard-to-reach spaces and fill the attic space with 16 inches of fresh insulation, with an R-Value of 60 (code is R49).  During the next few visits, the homeowner was able to solicit feedback from her guests about the comfortability of the home, with rave reviews.

Another happy customer here at Global Dwelling!!

A cold Crawlspace can make for an even colder living space! Stop living uncomfortably.

Mr. L called us with concerns about his floors being extremely cold. Good thing he called the right insulation experts! We assured Mr. L that we know exactly how to fix this common problem. Another concern that he had was the high costing energy bills. This is a common combo of concern we get contacted about here at Global Dwelling. The first step is to send out one of our home comfort specialists to evaluate the whole home. Once our home comfort specialist arrived and assessed the home he proposed some upgraded insulating methods that would both properly insulate and improve overall the energy and cost efficiency to heat and or cool the home.

Mr. L decided to choose us for his insulation experts and we couldn't wait to get started on his project! Our insulation experts arrived and began by removing any and all old insulation that had proven to be very ineffective and inefficient. We insulated all crawlspace areas first. This instantly provides a warmer above area especially flooring! Our team installed drainage mats on the stone walls and an encapsulation system across the dirt floors. Next, our team air sealed and insulated the rim joists with spray foam. Once the crawlspaces below the kitchen and addition were finished we did the same to the boiler room crawlspace to properly air seal and insulate for maximum comfort to minimize costs. The next space to insulate was the attic. First our team air sealed with Zypfoam and installed baffles on the slope. Then, they insulated the space between the differentiating attic levels with silverglo board to make sure they insulated all gaps properly sealing with Zypfoam. The last step is to blow-in the fluffy warm cellulose! We also did some ice dam preventing by spray foaming the ceiling rafters!

Mr. L is pleased with the work we completed for his insulating project. We can gladly say we have properly insulated yet another home and have restored comfort back into this homeowners home! He is now more energy efficient and environmentally sustainable!

Reducing High Energy Bills for This Home!

Mr. M knew the potential his attic could achieve, he just needed the right team in order to make his vision come true! Mr. M wanted to turn his attic into a conditioned and livable space also known as a SuperAttic. He had concerns about lowering his high costing energy bills. Our team of experienced insulators went to work right away to turn Mr. M's attic into a SuperAttic. Our experts wanted to tackle and fix the un-comfortability that Mr. M was feeling in his own home as soon as possible.

The first step in the 8-day process began with providing a very thorough evaluation of Mr. M's home by one of our highly trained home comfort specialists. During this evaluation it was discovered that Mr. M's current attic condition was very poorly insulated, leaving the attic to be the source of why his energy bills were high costing. In order to ensure that his home would be more energy-efficient, more comfortable, and cost-effective, the best solution for Mr. M was to remove the old insulation and upgrade to our more efficient insulation methods. Our experts then started the process of improvement for the attic, the first step they tackled was the removal of all of the old batt insulation that was causing energy inefficiencies for the home. Our team of experts then installed Foamax Boards with "blown-in" cellulose dense-packed behind to further insulated the space. They then air sealed the space with SprayFoam to further ensure that the area was impenetrable to any accessible points of access for air to leak out of.

Safe to say that Mr. M was delighted with the completion of the project and even more satisfied with the immediate difference in his energy bills and comfort in his home. Mr. M can now have peace of mind knowing that he will no longer suffer from high-cost energy bills and have a properly insulated SuperAttic!

Mr. B agreed that our team would exceed his expectations on performance and the overall outcome, so our team began right away to go above and beyond for him. Our team of highly trained insulation experts first started with the removal of all of the old batt insulation in the attic that was keeping the house from being energy efficient. Fixing Mrs. M's Uncomfortable Home!

Prior to our arrival, Mrs. D was very uncomfortable in her own home. Mrs. D called us because she knew we were the right team to help fix her home and make it comfortable again. The first step in upgrading her home was to provide a home comfort evaluation that was given by our highly trained home comfort specialist. Our home comfort specialists provide a very thorough home evaluation in order to come up with the best plan possible to fix any unique home's inefficiencies.

During the home comfort evaluation it was discovered that Mrs. D's attic was the main source of inefficiency that was making her home uncomfortable. This was giving her very high costing energy bills as well as leaving her with rooms that were unevenly warm during the winter. The first step after her evaluation was to remove and dispose all of the old batt insulation that was keeping her home from properly performing. Our team of expert insulators then used ZypFoam to air seal the entire area to stop any air penetrations that were accessible to the space. Our team of experienced insulators lastly insulated the area with our "blown-in" fluffy, efficient TruSoft Cellulose! Choosing this upgraded insulation method will be a much more cost effective and efficient for Mrs. D and her home.

Mrs. D was satisfied with the upgraded method she chose, her home is now comfortable again. She now has a much more relaxed peace of mind knowing that her home is no longer uncomfortable and will keep her warm for the next winter months to come.

Before our team of expert insulators arrived at Mrs. S's home, she had complaints that she was no longer feeling comfortable and was getting outrageously high-costing energy bills. She called us here at Global Dwelling with hopes that we would be able to fix her problems, and she was right to call us! We immediately sent our home comfort specialist to her home in order to find out why her home was uncomfortable. Upon the home comfort evaluation, our specialist discovered that the home was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation that was no longer keeping the home well insulated.

Our team of experts started right away by removing all of the old fiberglass batt insulation. Our expert team of insulators then went into the space and air sealed the entire area with ZypFoam to make sure that the area was no longer losing energy for the home. After our team air-sealed the attic space, they then insulated the area with our cost-effective and energy-efficient insulation method. Our method of "blown-in" cellulose was the perfect upgrade to do to this attic. By choosing this method, Mrs. S will immediately notice a difference in the temperature of her home as well seeing a big difference in the cost of her energy bills.

Upgraded Attic Insulation for Mrs. W

Mrs. W initially called us with complaints that she was experiencing cold feet during the winter as well as experiencing unevenly heated rooms, these problems were causing her distress and making her home uncomfortable. Mrs. W wanted our highly trained home comfort specialist to perform a very thorough home comfort evaluation to figure out why her home was no longer comfortable. During the evaluation, it was discovered that Mrs. W's basement was poorly insulated and had very exposed areas that were allowing air penetrations.

Our highly trained expert insulators wanted to fix Mrs. W's basement so that she could feel more comfortable in her home, especially with the winter months approaching. Our team installed SilverGlo boards on all of the exterior walls in the space to make the floors in the livable space evenly conditioned as well as the rooms in the house. Our team of expert insulators then completely air sealed the space with SprayFoam, they did this so that the space would be completely impenetrable from any possible air penetrations from outside.

Our team here at Global Dwelling is more than happy that we were able to help Mrs. W with her uncomfortable home and fix her problem area! Now Mrs. W can enjoy warm floors and evenly heated rooms in the winter.

Total Clean Space Encapsulation System

Prior to our team of insulation experts arrival, this crawlspace was poorly insulated. The crawlspace was causing the homeowners to experience cold feet during the winter, making their home very uncomfortable. Mr. M called the right team of expert insulators to fix his home. When our home comfort specialist performed the home comfort evaluation it was discovered that the old batt fiberglass insulation was not properly insulating the crawlspace, leaving the floors to become very cold during the winter. Our team of highly trained insulation experts knew what to do in order to fix this problem.

First our team of insulators removed and disposed all of the old batt fiberglass insulation. They then went and installed Foamax boards to all of the exterior walls and completely air sealed between them with ZypFoam. For a total clean space encapsulation system, our team of experts first installed a drainage matt . After our team installed the matt, they then laid down a vapor barrier on top, doing this will diminish water penetration into the crawlspace. Our team of expert insulators then secured the vapor barrier to the Foamax boards with vapor barrier tape to create a properly air sealed total clean space encapsulation system.

Now this crawlspace is properly encapsulated and Mr. M will no longer experience cold, uncomfortable floors during the winter months!

Crawlspace Encapsulation

When Mrs. Y called us, she had concerns about her floors being cold during the winter. The cold floors would cause her extreme discomfort, and she knew that she needed a solution to her problem. One of our highly trained home comfort specialists went to her home to perform a home comfort evaluation in order to see where her major problem areas were. Our home comfort specialist found that the crawlspace under her home was poorly insulated and needed to be upgraded. Our specialists suggested that Mrs. Y improve her crawlspace with a total clean space encapsulation system along with properly insulating the space with SprayFoam.

The main priority of our team of expert insulators was to fix Mrs. Y's problem in her home and restore her peace of mind. First, our team removed all of the old batt fiberglass insulation and debris in the space. Our team then air-sealed the crawlspace with SprayFoam to completely close up any easily accessible air penetrations. They then went in and started the installation of the new total clean space encapsulation system. The system is a drainage matt that is placed first and sealed to a vapor barrier with vapor barrier tape. The combination of both the drainage mat and the vapor barrier diminishes moisture mitigation in the area.

Mrs. Y can now be more comfortable in her own home with evenly warm floors this upcoming winter!

Before our expert team of insulators arrived at Mrs. S's home, it was poorly insulated and was no longer providing comfort. The home was becoming increasingly uncomfortable and Mrs. S knew she needed the right team of experts to fix her home. Mrs. S called us here at Global Dwelling because she knew that we would be the experts to help fix her problem. We sent out one of our highly trained and experienced home comfort specialists to her home to provide a very thorough home evaluation to find all of the problem areas she was experiencing. The evaluation showed that the attic space had little to no insulation and needed to be upgraded with a new insulation method.

The first step our team of experts took was to air seal all of the possible air penetrations that were in the space, they completed this step by sealing the areas with ZypFoam in order to significantly decrease the number of points in the attic. The next step our team of insulation experts completed was to upgrade the space by insulating the space with our premier insulation method known as blown-in cellulose! This insulation method is great for the attic because this material will insulate the space up to a 60 R-Value!

After our team upgraded the attic space with our method of insulation, Mrs. S felt an immediate difference as well as saw an immediate difference in her energy bills! Reducing High Energy Bills for Mrs. L!

Mrs. L noticed an uncomfortable difference in her home and wanted to make sure that her home would no longer cause her problems during the changing seasons. She wanted a home comfort specialist to come to her home and evaluate what was wrong. Upon the evaluation, it was discovered that Mrs. L's attic was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation. This was a direct cause of why her home was no longer giving her peace of mind. Our home comfort specialist came up with the best plan possible for Mrs. L's unique home and provided her with a solution to fix the problems.

The first step in fixing the home was to remove and dispose of the old insulation. Reducing High Energy Bills for This Home!

When Mrs. W called us here at Global Dwelling, she was concerned with how her energy bills were reflecting each month, and as the months passed, her bills kept increasing. Luckily Mrs. W called the right team of experts to help fix her home! We sent one of our home comfort specialists to complete an energy audit on her home to find all of the problem areas that were causing her to lose the most amount of energy.

It was discovered in the home energy audit that her home was poorly insulated and needed to be upgraded with an energy-efficient insulation method. The first step our insulation experts took in upgrading the space was to remove all of the old batt fiberglass insulation and debris in the space. The old insulation was no longer holding an R-value and was allowing the space to lose energy. With the removal completed, our insulation experts then went in and thoroughly air-sealed the space with ZypFoam, to fully ensure that all possible accessible air penetrations were sealed and no longer leaking or letting out the unwanted air.

Lastly, with the space thoroughly air-sealed, our team went in and upgraded the attic with our blown-in cellulose. Our premier method of insulation insulates up to a value of R-60 and is also known to be energy-efficient and cost-effective!

After enhancing the insulation in her attic space, Mrs. W noticed an almost immediate difference in her energy bills in the months to follow! We were more than happy to help Mrs. W and fix her uncomfortable home!

Why Did Mr. K Choose Us?

After doing some research on insulation services in his area, Mr. K found our team here at Global Dwelling. He saw on our website that we offer home comfort evaluations and gave us a call to find out more about what that means. After the phone call, Mr. K gained knowledge that a home comfort evaluation and a home energy audit are the same thing and booked an appointment with us. We sent out one of our highly trained and experienced home comfort specialists to his home to provide a very thorough evaluation and to provide the best plan possible on how we can help upgrade his home. Our home comfort specialist informed Mr. K that he would need to enhance his attic space by upgrading the current insulation method that was installed in the space.

The first step in the process was for our team to remove and dispose of all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was no longer keeping the space well insulated. Our team then went in and air-sealed the space to make sure that there was no longer any leaking or wanted air going in and out of accessible air points. After the air-sealing was completed, our team then went and properly insulated the space with TruSoft blown-in cellulose. This method was a great method for Mr. K, because not only does it insulate to an R-60 value, but it is also energy-efficient and can be a direct link to lowering energy bills for a home!

Insulating Rim Joists for Mrs. A

Mrs. A knew that the performance of her house needed to be improved by upgrading and insulating her basement but she wasn't sure what needed to be done. We scheduled Mrs. A for a home energy audit that would provide her with a very thorough evaluation of her home and give solutions to the problems she initially contacted us with. Upon the evaluation, our home comfort specialist discovered that her home was underperforming due to the lack of insulation in her basement area. Our home comfort specialist provided her with a solution to upgrade the space by insulating the rim joists and exterior walls.

The first step in insulating the rim joist for Mrs. A was to remove and dispose all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was in the ceiling of the crawlspace. Our team then went in and air sealed the area with ZypFoam to ensure that all possible air penetrations would be closed. After the accessible points were sealed, our team of experts then insulated all of the exterior walls and the rim joists in the space with SilverGlo boards which were then sealed together with ZypFoam and then further secured together with vapor barrier tape.

After the completion Mrs. A noted that she felt an almost significant difference in the feeling of her home and noticed that the work completed was reflecting in the cost of her energy bills in the short months to follow. Mrs. A thanks us for the upgrade and we thank her for her business!

Lastly, our team of highly-trained insulation experts properly insulated the space with our top choice of insulation, blown-in cellulose! No More Uncomfortable Home for Mr. W!

When Mr. W initially called us, he had concerns about his home's overall performance and knew he needed the right team of experts to provide him with the best possible solution. When we sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to provide a home comfort evaluation of the home, it was discovered during the evaluation that Mr. W's attic was poorly insulated with old fiberglass insulation. In order to restore peace of mind to the homeowners, our team of experts needed to upgrade the insulation in the attic space.

When our team of insulation experts arrived at the home, the first step in the upgrade process they took was to remove all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was in the attic area. After the removal, the space was then ready for our experts to air-seal with ZypFoam. Our experts air-seal the area to ensure that all and any easily accessible air penetrations no longer let in any wanted or leaky air in and out of the space. Lastly, with the air-sealing completed, our experts then insulate the space with our premier method of insulation, blown-in cellulose! Our TruSoft cellulose is known to be both energy-efficient and cost-effective, this insulation method also insulated up to an R-value of 60!

Once we completed the attic insulation upgrade for Mr. W he said that he noticed an almost immediate difference in temperature within his home! No More Worrying for Mrs. W

When our experts in insulation arrived at Mrs. W's home, they knew that they had to immediately fix her uncomfortable home. Mrs. W requested that we send out one of our highly trained home comfort specialists so that they could find where her home's inefficiencies were. Our home comfort specialist provided a very thorough evaluation of her home and discovered that the main source of her high costing energy bills was happening because of her poorly insulated attic!

First, our team of insulation experts went into the attic removed and disposed of any remaining insulation that was in the space. They then went into the space and completely air-sealed the area with Zypfoam. Our team of experts did this because the Zypfoam creates an impenetrable space, no longer letting in or out unwanted air. Lastly, our team of insulation experts upgraded the attic with our energy-efficient, cost-effective method, "blown-in" cellulose! This upgraded method is great for any homeowner to choose, it is warming and fluffy and also provides up to an R-60 value!

Crawlspace Encapsulation for Mr. H

When Mr. H called us, he had concerns about his floors being cold during the winter. One of our highly trained home comfort specialists went to his home to perform a home comfort evaluation in order to see where his major problem areas were. Our home comfort specialist found that the crawlspace under his home was poorly insulated and needed to be upgraded. Our specialists suggested that Mr. H improve his crawlspace with a total clean space encapsulation system along with properly insulating the space with SprayFoam.

The main priority of our team of expert insulators was to fix Mr. H's problem in his home and restore his peace of mind.

We were more than happy to be the right team of expert insulators to help fix Mr. H's uncomfortable home! Now Mr. H's peace of mind is restored for this upcoming winter season!

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Saugerties, NY

When Mr. R initially contacted us here at Global Dwelling, he had major concerns about the overall performance of his home. He told us here that this past winter season he was very uncomfortable, his floors were painfully cold which was causing his feet to have extreme discomfort. He wanted to make sure that his home was upgraded before the approaching cold months came this year and decided to see how we could fix his problem! We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to his home to perform a home energy audit to find all of the problem areas that were affecting his home's overall performance. Upon the evaluation, it was discovered that his crawlspace was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation and did not have any barrier from water entering the area.

The first step our team of insulation experts took was to remove and dispose of all of the poorly insulated old batt fiberglass insulation and to clear all of the debris that was in the space as well. They then air-sealed all of the exposed exterior walls in the space with ZypFoam before insulating them with Foamax boards. The Foamax boards were then further sealed together with vapor barrier tape so that the walls were impenetrable to any unwanted or leaky air. Our team of insulation experts then laid down a drainage matt that was sealed together with vapor barrier tape and had a vapor barrier placed on top. The drainage matt and the vapor barrier were sealed together with vapor barrier tape, the combination of both of these creates a total clean space encapsulation system that properly mitigates water and insulates!

Mr. R was very pleased upon the completion of his project and is looking forward to feeling the difference in his home's overall performance this upcoming winter season! We were more than happy to be the right team of experts for Mr. R and fix his uncomfortable home!

He complained that his floors were extremely cold during the winter, making his feet very uncomfortable. We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to his home to evaluate the space and to provide the best possible plan in order to make the home comfortable again! Our experts then insulated all of the rim joists and exposed exterior walls in the area with Sprayfoam to ensure that there was no longer any unwanted or leaky air entering the area. Our team then laid down a drainage matt in the area that was sealed together with vapor barrier tape. Next, our team laid down a vapor barrier on top and sealed both of them together with vapor barrier tape. New Conditioned Attic for Mrs. F in Kingston, NY

These homeowners wanted to upgrade their current unconditioned attic space into an area for more than just storage as it was being used before we arrived. These homeowners were more than excited when we told them that we had the best insulation solution to achieve this goal! They called the right team of insulation contractors to do just the right job!

In order to transform this space into their dream studio, our insulation experts first started by installing Foamax boards along the slopes of the attic. Next, they got to one of the most important parts of our insulation transformation process, which is air-sealing between these boards with ZypFoam and further sealed with vapor barrier tape. These homeowners still needed space for storage. So we created access to their knee walls, previously unconditioned, with Foamax boards and air sealed with ZypFoam! This allows the homeowners to add already existing unconditioned space that was outside of the thermal envelope of their home to be brought into the conditioned space of the home and into the thermal envelope!

Once the job was completed the homeowners were pleased to have a space they could use for their new studio and untapped space with the potential to add more space to utilize for storage. You can now say they are experiencing more than their home had to offer them while now enjoying the best of both worlds!

Why Did Mr. C Choose Us?

Mr. C called us here with concerns about how he could upgrade the current insulation method he had in his attic space. We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to his home to run a home energy audit to find all of the problem areas in the attic space. Not only did our expert insulation contractor find that there was old batt fiberglass insulation in the area, but they also found that the space was not properly air-sealed. The area not being properly air-sealed was becoming a very big problem for this space, it was allowing for any and all unwanted and leaky air to easily pass through the area.

Our expert insulation contractors were quick to upgrade this home's overall energy efficiency and performance! They first started by removing all of the old insulation in the area and properly disposing of it. Our experts then completed the most important part of our attic insulation process, air-sealing! We do our attic air-sealing by using ZypFoam to seal and close all of the easily accessible air penetration points so that they no longer become a direct link to the home's energy inefficiency problems. Lastly, our home insulation contractors blew in 18 inches of our TruSoft cellulose to reach an R-value of 60!

The homeowners were more than happy that they chose the best attic insulation contractors to upgrade their attic space!

No More Uncomfortable Home for Mr. L!

Mr. L called us here at Global Dwelling with questions on how he could improve the energy efficiency of his attic space, so we sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to provide a home energy audit and find a solution to his concerns. We were quick to send our expert team of insulation contractors to the home and fix the problems that were making it uncomfortable. The first step in our process was to get rid of all of the fiberglass insulation in the area so that our experts could do air-sealing in the attic. Once all of the nasty fiberglass was out of the space our attic insulation contractors then went in and thoroughly air-sealed with ZypFoam. We use ZypFoam to complete this process because we like to ensure that all of the easily accessible air penetrations won't let any leaky or unwanted air pass through easily anymore once the blanket of cellulose is laid down. With the air-sealing completed, our expert insulation contractors insulated the attic space with 18 inches of blown-in cellulose, which means this attic was insulated up to an R-value of 60!

Our team first started by air-sealing the attic space with ZypFoam to ensure that the space was thoroughly sealed off from any unwanted or leaky air. Our insulation experts also encapsulated the duct system that was in the attic by using our Tight 'N' True Foam Duct Encapsulation! Once the attic air-sealing and duct encapsulation was completed, our experts were then ready to upgrade the home with our premier method of insulation, blown-in cellulose! Our experts blew in 18 inches of blown-in cellulose which will settle to 16 inches and insulate the home up to an R-value of 60!

This home is now ready for the upcoming cold winter season!

No More Inconsistent Temperatures for Home in New Paltz, NY!

These homeowners were tired of feeling uncomfortable in their own home. They complained that every winter their floors were freezing cold and seemed to never heat up no matter how many space heaters they put in their home. We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialist to their home to see how we could best improve their home and restore their peace of mind. Our specialist found that the best possible solution for the homeowner was to insulate the rim joists in their crawlspace as well as encapsulate the space to protect it against the outside elements!

Our team first started with clearing out the old existing insulation that was in the rim joists and cleared out any remaining insulation in the crawlspace and debris on the crawlspace floor. Our team of experts then installed SilverGlo in the rim joists and air-sealed them with ZypFoam. Once the rim joists were properly insulated and air-sealed, it was time for our experts to install our encapsulation system with GoldSeal! Our experts completed this system by first laying down a drainage matt that was sealed with vapor barrier tape. Our experts then laid our GoldSeal vapor barrier that was secured to the drainage matt with vapor barrier tape. The combination of both of these creates an impenetrable space for outside elements to affect the space!

Using ZypFoam to thoroughly air-seal the attic ensures that any existing air penetrations in the space are closed off from allowing any leaky or unwanted air! Once the attic air-sealing was completed, our experts were then ready to upgrade the attic with our premier method of insulation! Our experts blew in up to 18 inches of blown-in cellulose into the attic which will settle to 16 inches and insulate the home up to an R-value of 60!

Making Floors Comfortable in New Paltz, NY

Before the arrival of our experts, Mrs. F was suffering from freezing cold floors in her home. She called us here at Global Dwelling to find peace of mind for this upcoming cold season. We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialist to provide the best possible solution for Mrs. F's unique home. When evaluating the home, our specialist found that Mrs. F's crawlspace ceiling was not properly insulated, leaving air penetrations to be very exposed. The easily accessible air penetrations allowed leaky or unwanted air to make the crawlspace unbearably cold which became a direct link to the freezing cold floors above.

Our team of insulation experts was quick to arrive at Mrs. F's home and help restore her peace of mind. Our experts began by installing SilverGlo rigid foam boards in the rim joists of the crawlspace. Once installed, our experts then air-sealed them with ZypFoam to thoroughly enclose all of the once easily accessible air penetrations! Once finished, Mrs. F said she felt an almost immediate difference in the temperature of her floors and said that she was prepared for this winter!

Making Floors Warmer in Kerhonkson, NY!

When Mrs. N first called us here at Global Dwelling, she was concerned about the crawlspace underneath her home. She said it felt like the space didn't have any insulation because of how cold her floors were above. We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to the home and evaluated the crawlspace and provided the best possible solution to Mrs. N's freezing cold floors. Our specialist found that the crawlspace did not have any insulation which was affecting the overall temperature, becoming a direct link to the temperature for the floors above.

Our team of expert insulators was quick to arrive and fix Mrs. N's uncomfortable home! Our team first began by installing SilverGlo boards in the rim joists which were then air-sealed with ZypFoam. Once the rim joists were properly air-sealed and insulated, our team was then ready to encapsulate the space, which will protect the space from outside elements and diminish water mitigation into the area. The first step in installing the encapsulation system is to lay down a drainage matt which is secured with vapor barrier tape, the system was then completed by laying down our GoldSeal vapor barrier which was then sealed to the drainage matt with vapor barrier tape.

The combination of both the encapsulation system and insulated rim joists will now improve the overall performance of the crawlspace, solving the homeowners freezing cold floor problem!

Making Floors in New Paltz, NY Warmer!

Our goal at this home in New Paltz, NY was to restore peace of mind to the homeowners by upgrading the insulation in their crawlspace. When Mr. A contacted us here at Global Dwelling, he said that he was experiencing cold floors that caused a lot of discomfort for him and his family. Our specialist found that the best way to fix this problem was to insulate the crawlspace with our Foamax rigid foam board and air seal.

When our experts first arrived at this home, they began with removing and disposing of the old batt insulation in the crawlspace ceiling. Once removed, our experts insulated the rim joists with SilverGlo and air-sealed them with ZypFoam. Insulating with SilverGlo and air-sealing ZypFoam thoroughly ensures that there would no longer be any air penetrations in the space that caused the cold drafty floors above. Our team of crawlspace insulation experts then insulated the walls by using Foamax boards. They secured the boards and then air-sealed them with ZypFoam, which then was further sealed with vapor barrier tape. After the arrival of our experts, Mr. A and his family will no longer suffer from cold drafty floors!

Making Floors Warmer in Olivebridge, NY!

When Mr. S reached out to us here at Global Dwelling, he had concerns about the insulation that was in his home. He said that all of the floors in the lower level of the home were cold and drafty and didn't ever seem to warm up. We sent one of our highly trained and experienced home comfort specialists to his home to evaluate and provide the best possible solution. Our specialist found that the crawlspace below did not have proper insulation and had outside elements getting into the space resulting in affecting the overall temperature.

Our team of expert crawlspace insulators arrived quickly to help Mr. S and help restore peace of mind for him and his family. Our experts began by removing all of the old fiberglass insulation that was in the crawlspace ceiling. During this process, our experts removed the plastic on the crawlspace flooring that was once used to protect the space against the outside elements. After the space was cleared out, our experts then insulated the rim joists by installing our SilverGlo rigid foam boards that were then air-sealed. Insulating the rim joists will diminish cold air getting into the air and affecting the floors above. Our experts then encapsulated the crawlspace to properly protect it against any outside elements that were once affecting the space. We encapsulated the crawlspace by first laying down a drainage matt, our team then completed the encapsulation by securing a vapor barrier on top of the matt and securing it together with vapor barrier tape. The combination of both of these will create an impenetrable space against any outside affecting elements. No more cold drafty floors for this family!

Warm, Fluffy Cellulose in New Paltz, NY

When this homeowner called us here at Global Dwelling, he knew that his attic needed an insulation upgrade. No More Freezing Cold Floors for this Family in New Paltz, NY!

We sent our team of expert crawlspace insulators to this home in New Paltz, NY to help fix this family that was suffering from freezing cold floors! When our home comfort specialist, Charlie went to the home to provide a home comfort evaluation, he found that the exposed exterior walls and crawlspace floors were both uninsulated and without any protection against the outside elements. The combination of both of these resulted in the family feeling discomfort when walking on the floors above the crawlspace area.

Our team of experts was quick to arrive at the home and help this family and restore their peace of mind! Our experts first began with insulating the exposed exterior walls with Foamax boards which were then air-sealed with ZypFoam and further sealed with barrier tape on top of the air-sealing. Our team installed the system by first laying down a drainage matt that was secured with vapor barrier tape and then completed the system by securing our GoldSeal vapor barrier on top with vapor barrier tape. The combination of both the drainage matt and vapor barrier creates an impenetrable space against any water mitigation or outside elements that could get into the space and affect the overall temperature. The combination of both insulating the exposed exterior walls and encapsulating the crawlspace floor will fix the problem of discomfort for the family. No more cold floors for this family!

Weatherization works wonders in New Paltz, NY

This home owner reached out to us initially with the goal of weatherizing this home. We were happy to help! First, we had our expert home comfort specialist head to the home to perform a completely free and no obligation home comfort evaluation. Upon arrival our Home Comfort Specialist was able to pinpoint the areas that were the most inefficient and overall low performing making it hard to conserve on energy.

Next, this home owner could absolutely see how and why we were the experts she needed! Our home comfort specialist provided the correct solution to achieve energy efficiency so they could be properly weatherized and save on energy costs all year round right here in the Hudson Valley.

Once we got her project scheduled, our amazing install crew got to work quickly! They started by removing all old insulation. Then, they installed baffles on the slopes of the knee-wall for proper and positive air movement throughout this small space. Next, they installed rulers so they can have an accurate read on the correct amount of cellulose they will later blow in. After, they properly air sealed with Zyp foam and installed our reflective, code compliant, Silver Glo rigid foam boards then lastly, blew in our fluffy, efficient, and recycled material called blown-in cellulose in the knee-walls. This is a top performing product loved by home owners everywhere. To properly air seal the attic hatch and successfully achieve a proper thermal envelope, we installed a David Lewis Hatch Cover which is sealed and form fitted to hug the attic hatch correctly. Our team then worked on the larger overhead attic space which was much larger. They removed any old, wet, and damaged inefficient fiberglass. Then, they vacuumed the space to make sure it was extra clean to prep for the air sealing. They air sealed with Zyp Foam and installed 4in Silver Glo board to achieve the super platform deck so the space could be well insulated but still used for storage! Lastly our amazing install team put down the plywood over the air sealed and insulated attic deck.

This homeowner is now happy and on their way to a more energy and cost efficient home!
