This attic was poorly insulated prior to the arrival of our home attic insulation experts. These homeowners wanted the overall performance of their home improved and upgraded so that their peace of mind could be restored. Our home attic insulation experts were quick to arrive and start the upgrade process! They first began by removing and disposing of all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was previously installed to insulate the home. Once the old insulation was removed and the space was clear, our experts were then ready to properly air-seal the attic with ZypFoam! Our team used ZypFoam to thoroughly ensure that all and any possible air penetrations in the space were sealed from allowing leaky or unwanted air into the space! Once the attic air-sealing was complete, our experts were then ready to upgrade the space with our premier method of insulation, TruSoft blown-in cellulose! Our experts blew in up to 18 inches of cellulose which will settle to 16 inches and insulate the space up to an R-value of 60. This method was great for the home because not only will it improve the overall energy efficiency, it will also become cost-effective for the home, so no more high-cost energy bills!

The first step in providing the best plan possible was to first send out one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to the home and thoroughly evaluate the space. Our specialist found that the crawlspace did not have proper protection against the outside elements, which was becoming a direct link to the space affecting the performance of the home. Once we provided the best possible solution to improving the floors above the space, our experts were quick to start! They first began by removing the old barrier that was used as protection and properly disposed of it. Once the space was clear, our experts were then ready to insulate the space! They first began by installing Foamax boards on all of the exposed exterior walls. The boards were air-sealed with ZypFoam and further sealed with vapor barrier tape. The combination of ZypFoam and vapor barrier tape ensure that leaky or unwanted air will no longer easily pass through the once-accessible air penetrations. Once the walls were insulated, our team was then ready to install our GoldSeal encapsulation system! Our experts completed this system by first laying down a drainage matt in the space which was secured with vapor barrier tape. Our team then installed our GoldSeal vapor barrier on top of the drainage matt and both were secured together by vapor barrier tape. The combination of both the drainage matt and vapor barrier has now transformed this space into an impenetrable space to outside elements!

We sent one of our highly trained insulation contractors to their home to perform a home energy audit in order to provide the best crawl space moisture solution for these homeowners. Upon, the energy audit our specialists discovered that the crawlspace did not have a proper crawlspace encapsulation system which was allowing for moisture and cold air to seep into the area. 

Our experts were quick to fix this crawlspace problem! Our team first started by insulating all of the exposed exterior walls with Foamax boards along with air-sealing them with ZypFoam and further air-sealed them with vapor barrier tape on the top. Our experts then laid down a drainage matt that was sealed to the Foamax boards with vapor barrier tape. Our team then completed the system by laying a vapor barrier on top of the drainage matt which was sealed together by vapor barrier tape. The combination of both the drainage matt and vapor barrier creates an impenetrable total clean space encapsulation system. This space is also now well insulated since all of the exposed exterior walls are now both air-sealed and insulated.
