Job Stories From Saugerties, NY
No More Poorly Insulated Attic in Saugerties, NY!

Mrs. P initially called us here at Global Dwelling with an interest in getting a home energy audit performed on her home or as we like to call it here, a home comfort evaluation. We sent one of our highly trained and experienced home comfort specialist to her home to provide a very thorough evaluation. Upon the evaluation, our specialist found that her attic needed to be upgraded with a new method of insulation that will improve her home's performance and efficiency!

We quickly sent our team of insulation experts to her home in order to fix the problems she was experiencing. Our team first started by removing all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was previously installed to insulate the home. Once the space was clear of the old insulation, our experts were then ready to air-seal the attic space with ZypFoam! Using ZypFoam to thoroughly air-seal the attic ensures that any existing air penetrations in the space are closed off from allowing any leaky or unwanted air! Once the attic air-sealing was completed, our experts were then ready to upgrade the attic with our premier method of insulation! Our experts blew in up to 18 inches of blown-in cellulose into the attic which will settle to 16 inches and insulate the home up to an R-value of 60!

Total Clean Space Encapsulation System for Mr. V

When Mr. V initially called us here at Global Dwelling, he had substantial concerns about his crawlspace area. He complained that his floors were extremely cold during the winter, making his feet very uncomfortable. We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to his home to evaluate the space and to provide the best possible plan in order to make the home comfortable again! It was discovered during the evaluation that his floors were not properly insulated and needed to be upgraded for the winter.

The first step our team of insulation experts did was to remove all of the dirt and debris that was in the space so it would be all clean and clear for the newly upgraded crawlspace encapsulation system. Our experts then insulated all of the rim joists and exposed exterior walls in the area with Sprayfoam to ensure that there was no longer any unwanted or leaky air entering the area. Our team then laid down a drainage matt in the area that was sealed together with vapor barrier tape. Next, our team laid down a vapor barrier on top and sealed both of them together with vapor barrier tape. The combination of both drainage matt and vapor barrier diminishes moisture mitigation in the area.

Mr. V was very pleased with the upgrade of his crawlspace! Thank you Mr. V for allowing us to be the right team of experts to help fix your uncomfortable home!

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Saugerties, NY

When Mr. R initially contacted us here at Global Dwelling, he had major concerns about the overall performance of his home. He told us here that this past winter season he was very uncomfortable, his floors were painfully cold which was causing his feet to have extreme discomfort. He wanted to make sure that his home was upgraded before the approaching cold months came this year and decided to see how we could fix his problem! We sent one of our highly trained home comfort specialists to his home to perform a home energy audit to find all of the problem areas that were affecting his home's overall performance. Upon the evaluation, it was discovered that his crawlspace was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation and did not have any barrier from water entering the area.

The first step our team of insulation experts took was to remove and dispose of all of the poorly insulated old batt fiberglass insulation and to clear all of the debris that was in the space as well. They then air-sealed all of the exposed exterior walls in the space with ZypFoam before insulating them with Foamax boards. The Foamax boards were then further sealed together with vapor barrier tape so that the walls were impenetrable to any unwanted or leaky air. Our team of insulation experts then laid down a drainage matt that was sealed together with vapor barrier tape and had a vapor barrier placed on top. The drainage matt and the vapor barrier were sealed together with vapor barrier tape, the combination of both of these creates a total clean space encapsulation system that properly mitigates water and insulates!

Mr. R was very pleased upon the completion of his project and is looking forward to feeling the difference in his home's overall performance this upcoming winter season! We were more than happy to be the right team of experts for Mr. R and fix his uncomfortable home!

Attic Insulation for Mrs. S

Before our team of expert insulators arrived at Mrs. S's home, she had complaints that she was no longer feeling comfortable and was getting outrageously high-costing energy bills. She called us here at Global Dwelling with hopes that we would be able to fix her problems, and she was right to call us! We immediately sent our home comfort specialist to her home in order to find out why her home was uncomfortable. Upon the home comfort evaluation, our specialist discovered that the home was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation that was no longer keeping the home well insulated.

Our team of experts started right away by removing all of the old fiberglass batt insulation. Our expert team of insulators then went into the space and air sealed the entire area with ZypFoam to make sure that the area was no longer losing energy for the home. After our team air-sealed the attic space, they then insulated the area with our cost-effective and energy-efficient insulation method. Our method of "blown-in" cellulose was the perfect upgrade to do to this attic. By choosing this method, Mrs. S will immediately notice a difference in the temperature of her home as well seeing a big difference in the cost of her energy bills.

Our team here at Global Dwelling thanks Mrs. S for allowing us to be the team to help fix her uncomfortable home!

Moisture in the crawl space. Insulation also needed.
Project Location: Saugerties, NY
House looks to have closed foam sprayed in lots of areas in home... but ventilation system may have leaks. I think they need to get cleaned and I am not sure you do that. I want them assessed and gone over and make sure that all areas are in good order. I also have an apartment and want that gone over. I close on the house this month and want it nice and tight and know what needs to be done if I need to do these things in steps, financially. But I don't think this should cost too much... at least I hope so... Thanks.

Project Location: Saugerties, NY
We have a mobile home. We recently had a new roof put on which included skylights in 2 bathrooms. Unfortunately, the skylights that were put in are a cheap plastic. We have hired a new roofer to replace them with glass skylights because these cheap plastic ones are letting in a ton of cold air. We ended up taping plastic up to the skylights but then noticed a ton of cold air coming through the vents in the bathroom so we taped them up too. Now, after closing off the skylights & vents in both bathrooms, we're noticing a cold that goes right through the middle of the trailer from one end to the other. The new roofer seems to think it has something to do with the replacement of the ridge vent...either incorrect installation, or, insufficient insulation in & around the areas of the ridge vent, skylights & bathroom vents (the bathroom with the worst draft had plywood replaced too). Hoping you can come here to evaluate the roof + all its parts & tell us if insulating along the ridge vent & around the skylight & vents will successfully get rid of our draft. Thanks so much.
