Ms. R reached out to us with the intention of reducing her energy costs overall for her home. With a home comfort evaluation we would be able to identify what solution her home needs to achieve that goal! Once the inefficiencies were identified, our production team arrived at her home with a detailed scope of the job!
Once our expert installers arrived, they began by removing old decking in the attic space. Under that decking was inefficient fiber glass insulation that was old and damaged. Next in prepping the attic, the team air sealed all top plates and other possible areas of penetration accessible for conditioned air from the living space to escape to. They used Zyp foam for all air sealing throughout the space. This home owner also had a whole house fan that needed to be properly addressed. The team installed a David Lewis Whole House Cover to do so. This cover is made from 4" Silver Glo board. Then, the team installed baffles along the slopes of the attic for proper air movement throughout the attic space. Now that the whole attic is prepped and ready for the last portion of the job, the team began to blow-in our TruSoft cellulose!
Ms. R now has the blueprint and project complete to achieve those energy cost savings she called us for! Another happy home owner and it was a pleasure to help and make this possible!
