First of all with your thorough assessment of our homes efficiency, you and Jill's attention from the office , and certainly everyone of your workers. The day showed up, I couldn't imagine where they'd all go...our house seemed too small for that many men! Everyone of them were professional and attentive to detail. The select few I got to know in the short time they were here, were very personable and simply went about their job with our home an utmost concern. They all carried an obvious pride in their work. From John's initial consultation I got the impression that not only was he knowledgeable, but he enjoyed the process of making people's home's more efficient. He was professional, personable and easy to work with.

The crew worked expediently and they seemed committed to a high level of craft. I am a carpenter myself, so I was certainly checking out the work that they had done at the close of each day and I was never disappointed. I was impressed with all aspects of each stage: cellulose blown insulation into the wall cavities, 2" foam board installation in crawlspace, vapor barrier installation under kitchen crawlspace, spray foaming around the sills, and installation of double paned windows in basement. These guys are a professional outfit with a reasonable overall price. Jill was great at helping us navigate the NYSERDA loan process and was always friendly and easy to deal with. Thanks again!!

Mr. F Needed the Right Team of Experts!

Mr. F was having problems with the overall performance of his home and knew he needed the right team of experts to provide him with a solution that would restore his peace of mind. Our home comfort specialist wanted to assist Mr. F in lowering the cost of his energy bills as well and knew that we would be able to help with that.

Our team of insulation experts were quick to help Mr. F upgrade the performance of his home. They first started by removing all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was in the space. Our experts then went and thoroughly sealed all and any possible air penetrations in the space. Air-sealing underneath our premier method of insulation further ensures that any unwanted and leaky air would not be able to pass through the space. Lastly, our team of highly-trained insulation experts properly insulated the space with our top choice of insulation, blown-in cellulose! Our method is known to improve the overall performance of a home since it is both energy-efficient and cost-effective. We insulated the space up to an R-value of 60 so that the home would be properly insulated.

Baffles- What Do They Do?

In brief, baffles are designed to provide a channel of air to flow through specific parts of your attic. They are known are also known as wind baffle, insulation baffles, rafter vents or venting chutes. They are usually made from cardboard, or rigid foam board, or polyvinyl chloride.

Surprisingly even the most well-insulated attic space may still require the assistance of attic baffles to provide the additional air circulation. The main function of an attic baffle is to draw the air in from outside your home, and allowing it to circulate around your attic. You can situate the baffles where the circulation is mainly required.

If you do not have sufficient air circulation you may be prone to the build-up of moisture which as a consequence results in mold and mildew problems, and that ‘musty’ smell we all relate to attics.

At a recent project in Mount Tremper, due to poor air circulation we deemed it necessary to install baffles in every bay of the roof deck.
