Global Dwelling staff Lester Moreau and Shawn Davis, with some help from other co-workers, worked for 10 days to insulate the attic and basement of our 1870 home. It was complicated work. It required crawling behind short walls, wielding foam insulation guns, and a hose 6" in diameter blowing cellulose into the floor and ceiling. Basement too: the whole perimeter where the outer wall meets the sill and the floor joists--about 140 feet--is sealed with sprayed polyurethane foam. It looks good. It feels good to have a winter coat zipped up tight before the worst weather comes.
