This is a before and after of a project we completed in Copake Falls, NY. Before the attic insulation upgrade, this home was having some comfort issues that the homeowner wanted to fix. They called the right team of experts! Our home comfort specialist, John Lopez provided a solution for their unique home that would help improve the cost of energy bills they were receiving. Our experts first started by removing and disposing of all of the old batt fiberglass insulation and clearing the space of any leftover debris. Once cleared, our experts then air-sealed the space with ZypFoam, which will thoroughly enclose any air penetrations that were once letting in any leaky or unwanted air. Our team of insulation contractors then installed a super platform in the space so that the owners could properly use their attic as storage space. First, our experts installed SilverGlo rigid foam boards on the existing flooring of the space. Our team then secured plywood on top that would protect the rigid foam board and air-sealed with zypFoam between the plywood. Lastly, our experts insulated this space up to an R-value of 60 by blowing in up to 18 inches of cellulose in the bays of the attic. Our premier method is known to be energy efficient and cost-effective which will help lower the high costs of energy bills for these homeowners!

The combination of both of these became a direct link to high-cost energy bills and an uncomfortable home.

Our team of expert insulation contractors was quick to arrive and help Mr. K. Our team first began by removing and disposing of all of the old batt fiberglass insulation that was in the space. Once all of the old insulation was removed, our experts were then ready to air-seal the attic space using ZypFoam. Our team uses ZypFoam because once applied, it expands so all of the once easily accessible air penetrations are thoroughly closed off from allowing leaky or unwanted air to get into the space. After our team completes the attic air-sealing, the attic is then ready to be upgraded with our premier method of insulation, blown-in cellulose! Our experts insulated this attic up to an R-value of 60 by blowing in up to 18 inches of cellulose which will settle to 16 inches and provide energy efficiency for the home. Not only is our method known to be "green" but it also is known to lower the costs of energy bills! Mr. K will have his peace of mind restored knowing his home is more comfortable and lowered in costs.
