Insulation Services Case Studies: Upgraded Attic Insulation

This customer was starting to face high-cost energy bills and wanted a solution to her problem! She started to also feel some discomfort in her home, and it seemed as though no matter how long she kept the air conditioning units running, her house never seemed to cool down. We sent one of our very experienced home comfort specialist to her home to fully evaluate both the attic and the basement to get down to the problem of what was happening in her home. When our specialist was in the attic he noticed that there were significant energy inefficiencies that needed to be fixed in order to fix the overall performance of her home. The attic was poorly insulated with old batt fiberglass insulation and did not have the proper air-sealing it needed in order to keep the space well insulated. We quickly sent our team of highly trained attic insulation contractors to fix the problem! Our team first started by removing all of the old insulation in order to have the space cleared for the proper air-sealing. Once this was completed, our experts went in and thoroughly air-sealed with ZypFoam to seal all of the easily accessible air penetrations. Air-sealing ensures that the leaky and unwanted air won't be able to pass through any longer and allows for the blown-in cellulose to properly insulate. After the sealing, our team of trained contractors blew in 18 inches of warm fluffy cellulose to insulate the space to an R-value of 60! Insulating up to this value fixes the energy inefficiencies that the home was once experiencing. Our premier method of insulation is also known to be cost-effective so now Mrs. B won't be receiving such high-cost energy bills in the months to follow, and won't be feeling like she has to keep her appliances on for so long.
